First you missed your chance to get away and now you’ve missed your chance to stay. The rolling rock was flowing, there’s no stopping where it’s going. Trading your tomorrows for today. And I know I’m fucking up, you know I’m fucking up. Everybody knows what’s up. Possibilities were there to throw away while I laid around in bed feeling like shit with you all day. What was rockin’ now is rolling. Guess I’ll see you while I’m scrolling. Wasting your tomorrows for today. And I know I’m fucking up, you know I’m fucking up. Everybody knows what’s up...

We're not going back inside, not even for a minute. I don't wanna be in the kind of place that would let either one of us in it. It was the grandest of fuckups, I say 5 fucking stars. So go ahead and grab your shit and get back in the car. Planet Venus, sparkling bright, up in the twilight sky with the crescent moon to its right and you right by my side. We're getting out of here. I've been feigning disinterest to preserve what dignity I still claim to hold onto. I could beg but I don't want to. You know I'd steal if I had to. I'd say mean, mean things about you just to get me through all of this shit you put me through. There's another planet sparkling bright somewhere way out of sight. A moon or two to it's right, and you're still by my side. We're getting out of here, out of here. You shoulda seen us sparkling bright, but you were holed up inside. Mounted flat screen the only light, the curtains curtained out the night. I'm getting out of here, out of here, let's go.

Dark hour of noon, I think life is elsewhere. Was it the haunting of the tell-tale heart? The vultures eye in the old man? Are there really madmen in world or did the evil eye get me here? When facing blood cold by degrees, your smile lifts the fear. Pour some water on these crystal fragmented lyrics and they'll form a river to the end. And the end should create less confusion, frightened roots stunting growth they dig in. Majesty of pain, why to dig, dig, dig this hole. In this foxhole, I can't stay. Majesty of pain, consolation of forgetting’s gone. Scene of panoramic everything. Sunset the force of decay. In this march, guilty tormented shadows yield to the fury of judicial winds. Legs of Christ, served by fruitless illusion. Keep your god, I own this entree of sin. Majesty of pain, time to fill, fill forgotten’s holes. Breach and clear, the steadfast advance. Majesty of pain, constellation of forgiveness. Curtain call the final act of the play. Long live the shell of a man. Bright seconds to midnight, hail the death of the day. Moving marbles to the jars of my freedom, triangle stands here to stay. Is there a madman in the mirror? Eyes angelic rage, like the sea. In the ripple of neglected tears, let’s make history.

Spare Me 03:25
Clouds blanket out the stars, they blanket out the moonlight. There's a stillness in the air that seems just about right. The trees are dressed in black as they hide out from the day. Lightning outlines the horizon out over the bay. Do we put it out there and clear the air, try to move on by stitching up the tear. Or do we sweep it under the rug, maybe a feeling spared if we pretend. There's a hint of definition appearing in the east. Barely noticed at first, then spreading like disease. Unforgiving in it's conquest, the onset, acute. Perfect eloquence is almost always mute. Do we put it out there, just let it all out. Once the cards are face up, we'll see if we still care. Or leave it in the shadows of doubt, maybe a feeling spared if we pretend the problem isn't there. Throw me something to hold on to or let me let go.

Top Drawer 02:22
Kick down the door, throw his big ass on the floor. He keeps the weed in the bedroom dresser, top drawer. You hold the gun, I'll grab the goods. If all goes as planned I'm thinkin’ we should be outta there in just a few minutes tops. He'd have to be a fool to call the cops. Famous last words, famous last words. 'Cause that slight glance to the right and the lightning quick strike, it caught you off guard. Oh, you shoulda seen your eyes, a mix of fear and surprise. Impending doom realized. Then you were outta there in just a few seconds flat. Gutless, leaving your gunless partner trapped. I saw the mug shot in the paper the next day. Holy fuckin shit! I stared in disbelief at what appeared to be his face. The perfect plan, the perfect plan gone completely to shit. Next time you're kickin’ down a door, you better know who's on the other side of it.

In Reverse 03:25
Let's just play it in reverse as if it could get any worse. Let's just shit our pants on stage and then slow dance. Let's just play and not rehearse, it could be worse, in reverse. When the words rolled off of your tongue, you surprised even yourself with an ease of delivery, unrehearsed. You said what you said and you blamed it on the booze, but there's nothing much like booze for letting loose the truth. The night's beauty fades at daybreak when it's time to head back home. Kinda missed it in the moment, saw the genius later on. Three chords are bored with you and me. These words; they love, they hate, they sing. They used to soar, they used to sing. Blame it on the branches of the trees being shaken by the breeze. But I know that for sure it's something more and it'll soon be at the door. And it's definitely gonna wanna settle up the score. All those opportunities, we'll never get to see. Blame it on the branches of the trees, darkening everything.

I think I hear what you're saying, I guess I don't really care. I guess you could use my help out there, but I'll just sit here in my chair. I see the blood that you're spraying, you're spraying it everywhere. The sharks are swarming around you and you're choking on the air. And if you don't care, then why should I care. If your friends don't care, then why should I care, 'cause we all know you're staying. We see it in your charcoal stare. And you're leathering up out here in the sun while I sit here in my shaded chair. And the beautiful songs that you sang with your friends; They’re too far away to hear. They're cold and comfortable somewhere and you're choking on the air. Somehow you lost your way, the ocean's that way. I think I hear what you're saying, it's coming in crystal clear. You just don't want them to see you like this. It's that pride you hold so dear. I see the blood that you're spraying, you're spraying it everywhere. The sharks are swarming around you and you're choking on the air. Somehow you lost your way, the ocean's that way.

Someone put some bricks in my backpack. Someone's not pulling their weight. Someone's been lying in the shade all day. Someone planted the seed for hate. You said my name like it was a synonym for disgust and you got a habit of always being right, 'cause I got some ugly shit on my mind. Sometimes, there's too much talking when there's nothing to say. Somehow you always get your way. Some things have been repeated again and again. Someday things won't be like they've been. You said my name like it was a synonym for mistrust and you got a habit of always being right, 'cause I got some ugly shit on my mind.

I've been having bad dreams where my brakes go out and I'm fighting to stay in control. I'm swerving in and out of traffic, white-knuckled because I know I'm runnin' out of time, I'm runnin' out of road. And then I wake up and I'm drenched with sweat, remembering all the things I went to sleep to forget. I need a shake up, I need something that I haven't found yet. There's another one where the seat belt lights comes on and the pilot announces "hang on". We made it over the mountains, and as we come out of the clouds, I wonder where you are, 'cause you're not here with me, as we're rushing towards the ground. And then I wake up and I'm drenched with sweat, remembering all the things I went to sleep to forget. I need a shake up, I need something that I haven't found yet. Always worked so hard at finding the easy way, a pill to medicate, a drink to put an end to the day. So can you turn the TV up for a little noise 'til I fall asleep? The silence before slumber can be deafening. It's when the bats from all the darkest caves wake up and then give chase. I need an anchor to keep me in place. So keep me in place.

It kinda sounds a bit like Codeine and maybe a little Seam. Stuck in a 90's fuzzed out state-of-mind, overdosing on the Drop Nineteens. And there's some Bedhead in there somewhere. It's embedded in there somewhere. I could never sound like Soo Young, and he could never sound like me. Yeah Shields, he worked the pedals, but Bilinda was all I could see.
